Cedarbrook stands within the broad stream of historic, creedal Christianity. We affirm the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed as faithful summaries of the Christian faith. What follows is a short statement of the convictions that shape our life together.
We receive the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired and trustworthy Word of God — sufficient for faith and practice. We read the Bible together expecting it to speak plainly and patiently.
We worship one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, good, and personal; the maker of all things, seen and unseen.
We confess Jesus of Nazareth as the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He lived without sin, was crucified, died, was buried, and rose bodily on the third day. He has ascended and will return to judge the living and the dead.
The Spirit gives life, convicts, comforts, gathers the church, and equips believers for love and service. We pray to be a congregation that listens for the Spirit before it speaks.
Salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by good behavior nor forfeited by failure. We baptize new believers and welcome them to the Lord's Table.
The church is the family of God — a community of forgiven people learning, slowly, to love God and neighbor. We hold the local congregation to be the ordinary place where that learning happens, and we take its small disciplines (gathering, prayer, communion, service) seriously.
Every person bears the image of God and possesses inherent dignity. This conviction shapes how we welcome the stranger, advocate for the vulnerable, and treat one another within the congregation.
We await the return of Christ, the resurrection of the body, and the renewal of all things. We hold this hope soberly and with joy.
Cedarbrook is not a political organization, not a wellness brand, and not a stepping-stone to anything else. We are a small Christian congregation trying, week by week, to be faithful in one neighborhood.
